This partnership combines disciplined wildlife management, elite hounds, and deep knowledge of Colorado’s mountain terrain to deliver a true fair-chase predator hunt.

As many Western states continue to move toward limited draw-only opportunities, our guided mountain lion hunts in Colorado provide a rare advantage—over-the-counter tags. There is no waiting period and no draw system. When you are ready to hunt, you can make that decision on your terms.

Our mountain lion hunts operate on a strategic on-call booking system designed to maximize opportunity and success. We closely monitor weather patterns throughout the winter, and when an impending snowstorm creates ideal tracking conditions, we initiate a hunt window. At that point, we begin calling hunters from the top of our on-call list and continue down the list until two clients are able to commit and travel for the hunt. Placement on the list does not determine harvest order or guarantee timing—it simply establishes a first-come, first-contact call order when conditions align. This system allows flexibility for our clients while ensuring hunts only take place when snow conditions and trackability are at their best.

Over the past several seasons, our guided mountain lion hunts have maintained an exceptional opportunity rate on mature toms, with very few hunters leaving without a chance at a lion. These hunts are built around snow tracking, reading sign, and working behind highly trained hounds in rugged winter terrain—making them one of the most physically demanding and rewarding hunts in Colorado.

Mountain lion hunts utilize a combination of snowmobiles, tracked ATVs and UTVs, 4WD vehicles, and on-foot travel, depending on terrain and snow conditions. A bobcat may also be harvested during a lion hunt for an additional fee, adding to the overall experience.

All lion hunts are fully guided and include lodging and home-cooked meals for the duration of the seven-day hunt. As with all KB Outdoors operations, we maintain a relaxed, family- and friends-oriented camp atmosphere while delivering a serious, professional hunting experience.
