Most notably, the Johnson Ram harvested in 2024 scored 183 inches and became the first ram in Colorado state history documented to exceed 18-inch bases—a milestone achievement that firmly places GMU S5 among the elite sheep units in North America.

While both units are extremely difficult to draw and require serious physical preparation, GMU S5 offers a ceiling few units can match. Our private land access and guiding experience allow hunters in both units to hunt efficiently, evaluate rams properly, and capitalize on rare opportunities when they present themselves.

Guided Sheep Hunt Structure

All bighorn sheep hunts are conducted under a 2-guides-to-1-hunter ratio and are eight days in length. This structure allows for proper acclimation, extended glassing, sound judgment, and disciplined decision-making in some of the most unforgiving terrain Colorado has to offer.

Sheep hunting in GMU S5 and S60 is physically demanding and mentally taxing. Our role is to manage logistics, access, glassing strategy, and overall hunt execution so the hunter can focus entirely on the opportunity at hand.
